The cat has started knocking her toys under the furniture with suspicious regularity.

She knocks them under closet doors, too. Depending on where the toy ends up, she often needs human help to retrieve it. If no one is available to help, she'll lie down and wait where she last saw the toy, in case it comes out again on its own. It's amusing, but I'm getting tired of pulling out my night table.

When this routine started a few days ago, the toys came back fuzzy with dust. I finally pulled out the night table and vacuumed thoroughly under and behind it. I mentioned it to Seatmate, and, inspired, we moved everything and cleaned the whole room. We must have vacuumed up a whole cat worth of hair.

Seatmate also stuffed towels under the closet doors. They have been mostly successful in blocking cat toys. I stuffed a towel under the front of my night table, and it has not been successful. I think she pulls it out just to mess with me.

We still don't have a name for her. She doesn't seem to mind.
