Two images from the Panama Canal.

My monitor is inaccurate. Are these photos too dark? Too light? Just right? (The rowboat shot is meant to be mostly silhouette.) Feedback appreciated.

I think the one on the left is perfect. The full size of the rowboat shot looks great to me - I don't think it's too dark for a night shot, but I like dark so I might not be the best person to give constructive feedback.

I really like the rowboat shot, though. Very much.

Thanks! I like it enough to keep it despite the blurring. It might help if I explain the shot when I post it, though. When a small ship or boat enters the locks, a couple of Canal Authority guys come out in a rowboat to run the lines from the ship to the locomotives on either side (which keep the ship centered and steady). The edges of big ships are close enough that line handlers can toss the lines from ship to ground, but for little ships, they use an old-fashioned rowboat. It's funny to see against all the sophisticated machinery of the Canal.

I'll probably wind up checking all the photos at a Kinko's or something and taking notes on each one. This monitor stinks. Thanks for the reply.

So beautiful! I think if you lightened the boat anymore you'd make the colors in the water too bright and lose texture.
